1Six days of toil and care, I bid you all adieu; My soul, enjoy thy Sabbath hours, I gladly welcome you.

2My heart with rapture burns To Eden's vale so fair, That for its blessed solitude, And view the Sabbath there.

3Seven thousand years they roll, Shall memory faithful prove To Him who made the earth and sea, And starry worlds above.

4Each Sabbath spent aright Shall bring us nearer thee, Till in that glorious land of light We're made forever free.
