Another six days' work is done

Another six days' work is done, Another Sabbath is begun; Return, my soul, enjoy thy rest, Improve the day that God has blest.

Come, bless the Lord, whose love begins So sweet a rest to weary minds; O blessed antidote is given To those who seek the courts of heaven.

Oh! that our thoughts and thanks may rise And feel from whence our pleasure flows; And draw from Christ that sweet repose Which will our hearts cheer and compose.

This heavenly calm within the breast Is the best proof of glorious rest, Which for the church of God remains, The end of cares, the end of pains.
