About Advent Hymnals
Advent Hymnals is a free online library of the hymnals of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and the Advent movement: 13 hymnals from 1838 to today, 2,873 hymns with every verse.
What is here
The Seventh-day Adventist Hymnal (1985) sung in churches today, the Church Hymnal (1941), Christ in Song (1900), the Hymns and Tunes books of 1869, 1876 and 1886, and the hymnbooks of the first Sabbath-keeping Adventists, among them Hymns for Second Advent Believers (1852) compiled by James White and the Millennial Harp of 1843. Hymnals in Kiswahili (Nyimbo za Kristo) and Dholuo (Wende Nyasaye) are on the way.
Find any hymn by its number, title or first line, or browse by topic, author, composer, tune and meter.
The Studio
The Studio draws each hymn's score live from the music, so a choir member can hear their own part, soprano, alto, tenor or bass, slow it down, loop a hard line, transpose it, see the chords or the tonic sol-fa, sing into the microphone to check their pitch, and project the words for the congregation. Hymns are being added to the Studio one by one.
Copyright
Most of these hymns are in the public domain. Words still under copyright belong to their owners and are shown for worship and study, with the notice the hymnal prints.
