1Now praise the hidden God of love
In whom we all must live and move,
Who shepherds us at every stage
Thro' youth, maturity, and age.

2Who challenged us, when we were young
To storm the citadels of wrong;
In care for others proves to us
At every stage how God is.

3Who bids us never lose our zest,
But urging us to rest,
But content to sleep, when
We have still done, And

4Then talk no more of wasted time,
But Godward look, and upward climb,
Consumed to do, and place to fill,
And travel on.
