Hymns for Second Advent Believers 89

The Happy Land

Studio

1I HAVE heard of a land that is ever bright,
Where friends never change, nor fade from our sight;
I have seen gentle spirits who thither have gone,
To meet them again my spirit doth long.

2I have heard that there flowers are ever in bloom,
And always send forth the richest perfume;
I've heard that no sickness or death will be there,
No sin to molest, or fill with despair.

3I've heard that the blest on that happy shore,
Will never be hungry or thirst any more;
The light of the City which sweetly hath shone,
Proceeds from the Lamb, who sits on the Throne.

4I've heard there are pleasures unspeakably sweet,
And tones of affection both holy and deep;
I've heard that all tears will be wiped from the eye,
For that happy land my spirit doth sigh.
