1Awake, my heart! my soul arise! This is the day believers prize; Improve this Sabbath, then, with care; Let every moment have its share.

2Oh, solemn thought! Lord, give me power, To rightly spend this holy hour; Oh! let thy wings of faith and love To bear my longing spirit move.

3Jesus, assist, now let me fall To worship thee, and serve thee all; To glorify thy matchless grace; To see thy beauteous face.

4Be with me in thy house to-day, And tune my heart to sing and pray; Command thy word to fall like dew, Refreshing, and renewing all below.

5Call forth all my thoughts, and let them rove O'er the green pastures of thy love; Oh! let not sin prevent my rest, Or keep my from thy Sabbath feast.
