Hymn 487
1I SEE thee kneeling in the garden,
Pureness has shining way,
And angels proclaims his Maker's praise,
While every breath of air ;
2Thus would the rising soul
To heavenly Parent sue,
And like the great original
Thus breathe thy praises too.
3Serene I laid me down
Beneath his guardian care ;
I slept, and I awoke, and found
My kind Preserver near.
4My life I would anew
Devote, O Lord, to thee ;
And in thy kingdom I would spend
A bright eternity.
