Hymn 106

Studio

1'TIS the last call of mercy, that lingers for thee ;
O sinner, receive it ; to Jesus now flee ;
He offers that calls thee : but then that voice
His offered salvation and love are abused !

2If thou slightest this warning, ere offered at last,
To dwell with the sad mourning—the harvest is passed,
Salvation is neglected, the summer is o'er,
And thou art not saved !—there is mercy no more !

3'Tis the last call of mercy ; Oh ! turn not away,
For now are its waters, the thirsty soul's stay !
The Spirit invites you, and pleads with you, come ;
Oh ! come to life's waters, ere thirsty you roam !

4'Tis the last call of mercy ; Oh ! steel not thy heart,
For now are its strings, from mercy to part !
Tis pride is now calling—ye thirsty souls, come !
Oh ! come to life's waters, in mercy's room !

5'Tis the last call of mercy, that lingers for thee ;
Break away from thy bondage, O sinner, in free !
Behold now the waters, life's fountain so blest !
The summer is ended—and perish at last.
