God of My Life

God of my life, whose gracious power Through varied deaths my soul has led, Or turned aside death's threatening hour, Or lifted up my sinking head;

In all my ways thy hand I own, Thy ruling providence I see; Assist me still my course to run, And still direct my paths to thee.

Thy love for me, the love I owe Returns with interest to thy throne; Ten thousand precious gifts bestow, Here love divine and love are one.

Through every period of my life Thy goodness I'll pursue; And after death in distant worlds, The pleasing theme renew.
